Understand more about the seal:
The Neutral Event Seal is a voluntary initiative for organizations that care about climate change and are committed to decarbonization and sustainability. The seal is the recognition for the compensation of carbon emissions that could not be avoided, through the support of high-quality socio-environmental projects.
How carbon offsetting works:

Travel, energy consumption, and waste generation emit greenhouse gases

These emissions are quantified in kg of CO2 using internationally recognized methodology

A certified environmental project that absorbed the same amount of carbon is supported

This project is financially rewarded for carbon offsetting

In this way, the company receives the seal and certificate of the carbon offsetting program with traceability of the action

Bandeira and Capelli Ceramics

The Cerâmica Bandeira E Capelli project involves two small ceramic industries located in Capela, in the state of Alagoas. Specializing in the manufacture of structural ceramic products such as bricks and tiles, both have transitioned their energy matrix to renewable biomass—bamboo, coconut husk, sawdust, and sugarcane bagasse—as an alternative to native wood from the Caatinga. By ceasing to consume firewood from the Caatinga, the project reduces carbon emissions, which also contributes to the conservation of the ecosystem. Over 400,000 tons of carbon have been avoided, and 380 people have benefited.
