Aligned with its commitment to sustainability, BTG Pactual promotes the planting of the BTG Forest. The public also has the opportunity to make donations that will be used to buy seedlings to be planted in the BTG Forest, with the planting of 1400 trees commencing. This first phase of planting will take place in the Pau Brasil National Park (located in the municipality of Porto Seguro). Created on April 20, 1999, with an area of 11,538 hectares, the park is one of the largest continuous areas of Ombrophilous Tableland Forest, identified by scientists as one of the most important world hot spots for conservation, that is, it has high biodiversity and endemism, and is even listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

BTG Pactual will plant 1400 native Atlantic Forest trees, with the possibility of increasing the number of seedlings thanks to the possibility of the BTG Pactual Voluntariado event audience making donations that can be converted into seedlings to be planted in the Pau Brasil National Park, in Porto Seguro, Bahia, where the planting of the 1400 trees will be named the BTG Forest.
The biome that covers the chosen area is the Atlantic Forest, which comprises about 15% of the national territory, in 17 states. It is home to 72% of Brazilians and concentrates 70% of the national GDP. Essential services such as water supply, climate regulation, agriculture, fishing, electricity, and tourism depend on it. Today, only 12.4% of the original forest remains.
For this reason, this initiative contributes to the maintenance of essential environmental services for life and to the strengthening of local organizations.
Planting trees demonstrates environmental concern, bringing nature as the central position of its actions, besides contributing to the production of water, oxygen, and guaranteeing conditions for the permanence of the local fauna, and consequently for the restoration of the Atlantic Forest Biome, the most devastated in the country. All these actions contribute to the fight against climate change.
BTG believes that investing sustainably is investing in the future and recognizing that companies that seek to solve the world's major challenges may be better positioned to grow and achieve better financial results.

What are the project SDGs
The project BTG Forest includes 3 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, which are:

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. This goal aims to improve the quality of life in urban areas by promoting sustainable urban development and ensuring equitable access to basic services such as adequate housing, public transportation, sanitation, energy, and infrastructure. It also seeks to make cities safer, resilient to natural disasters, and environmentally sustainable by protecting cultural and natural heritage and promoting inclusive economic development. SDG 11 recognizes the crucial role of cities in achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals and promoting a more just and sustainable future for all.

CLIMATE ACTION
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. This goal aims to address the challenges posed by climate change, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to adverse impacts already occurring, and promoting climate resilience. Achieving this goal requires actions at various levels, from local to international, aiming at mitigating emissions, developing adaptation strategies, implementing environmental policies, and mobilizing resources to finance measures to combat climate change. SDG 13 recognizes the urgency of acting to avoid the worst effects of climate change and to protect the environment for future generations.

LIFE ON LAND
Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss. This goal aims to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, including forests, wetlands, mountains, and drylands, as well as the protection of biodiversity and natural habitats. It seeks to promote sustainable land management practices, restoration of degraded ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, combating desertification and land degradation, and preventing species extinction. SDG 15 recognizes the fundamental role of terrestrial ecosystems in the health of the planet, in mitigating climate change, and in human well-being.
